Stuffed French Toast with Strawberry Syrup Recipe

I made this recipe for my granddaughter's 13th birthday. It is delicious and we both enjoyed it very much. I like making up a big batch of this recipe. It heats up well if you have leftovers. You can also wrap the french toast individually and freeze it until you're ready to eat it.


12 slices of bread 
**I prefer wheat bread**
8 oz. cream cheese

2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

1 cup strawberry jam or preserves
1-2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, sliced


Put strawberry jam in small saucepan on low heat. Heat until it starts to boil. Add strawberries. Only cook strawberries long enough to heat through. Spread the cream cheese on half of the bread slices and cover with other half of bread slices. Mix together eggs, milk, and vanilla. Dip bread in the egg mixture and grill on griddle sprayed with cooking spray, if you have one, if not, use a frying pan to cook the french toast. Cover with strawberry syrup. Enjoy.
