Creamy Crunchy Banana Nut Bread Recipe

I have this banana nut bread in the oven right now. It smells so good and I can't wait to have a piece of it with my coffee.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 1/4 cups white sugar
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
2 eggs
3 ripe bananas (mashed)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped

Sift together flour, baking powder, and soda; in a separate bowl and set aside.

In mixing bowl, cream the butter and cream cheese together. Gradually add both sugars and continue beating until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Stir in the mashed bananas, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and walnuts..

Add flour mixture; mix until batter is just moist.

Divide 1/2 the batter into two greased and floured 8x4 inch loaf pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

  1. This sounds delicious. Banana bread is one of my favorites!

  2. I love the idea of cream cheese in the bread! YUM.

  3. This sounds so good! I often use sour cream in recipes like this, but have never seen cream cheese used.
