2-3 lb. boneless chuck roast
2 cans golden mushroom soup
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
1 lb. baby carrots
2 lbs. new potatoes (cut in quarters)

Stuffed French Toast with Strawberry Syrup Recipe

I made this recipe for my granddaughter's 13th birthday. It is delicious and we both enjoyed it very much. I like making up a big batch of this recipe. It heats up well if you have leftovers. You can also wrap the french toast individually and freeze it until you're ready to eat it.

Ingredients:

12 slices of bread
**I prefer wheat bread**
8 oz. cream cheese

2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

1 cup strawberry jam or preserves
1-2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, sliced

Directions:

Put strawberry jam in small saucepan on low heat. Heat until it starts to boil. Add strawberries. Only cook strawberries long enough to heat through. Spread the cream cheese on half of the bread slices and cover with other half of bread slices. Mix together eggs, milk, and vanilla. Dip bread in the egg mixture and grill on griddle sprayed with cooking spray, if you have one, if not, use a frying pan to cook the french toast. Cover with strawberry syrup. Enjoy.

Mixed Fruit Smoothie Recipe

I had some fruit at home that was getting ripe so I used it to make this fruit smoothie. Then I took part of it out and added veggies to it to make my green drink. I was also thinking that I could use part of it to make a mixed fruit bread, like banana nut bread, but with other fruits. It tastes almost like applesauce, but has other fruits in it as well. If you think of other ways you could use this combination for baking please share them. I know some people add applesauce in their brownies in place of part of the oil. I don't see why you couldn't use this in the same way. The kids will like it too.

Ingredients:

1 can crushed pineapple, in it's own juice
**you could use fresh pineapple
4 or 5 small bananas, peeled
2 pears, peeled
2 apples, peeled

Directions:

I always try to start with the ingredient that has the most liquid so it helps the blender work better, so in this recipe I started with the pineapple. I gradually added the other fruit and blended after each addition. This makes a blender full. Refrigerate.

The Book of Esther: A Story of Love and Favor is a Daily-Bible-Reading study of the book of Esther. In the book of Esther, Esther was adopted by her cousin Mordecai. In a series of events and through fasting, prayer and God’s favor Esther was placed in a position to save the Jewish people. Esther’s cousin Mordecai told her maybe she was born for such a time as this. God puts us all in circumstances where He can use us to further His kingdom and give Him glory, if we are willing and obedient. Esther found her identity in Christ and her purpose for life. Like Esther you were born for such a time as this. You too can find your identity in Christ.

Psalm 119: Thy Word is a Lamp unto My Feet

 Only 99 cents

Psalm 119: Thy Word is a Lamp unto My Feet is a Daily-Bible-Reading Study by Deborah H. Bateman. Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible and is located in the center of the Bible. It is about the importance of God’s Word, the Bible in your life. It is broken up into twenty-two stanzas of eight verses each so Deborah crated twenty-two short lessons which can be used for personal daily devotions or weekly group Bible studies. Each stanza starts with a letter from the Hebrew alphabet so you will also learn about one letter of the Hebrew alphabet with each lesson. Deborah includes a prayer and a few questions at the end of each lesson for personal reflection or group discussion.

PURIM Celebration: 28 Daily Devotionals

PURIM Celebration: 28 Daily Devotionals is a Daily-Bible-Reading Study by Deborah H. Bateman and friends. It is a compilation of 28 Daily Devotionals by me and fourteen of my author and writer friends.

Purim is a holiday that was started back in the days of Queen Esther and is still celebrated today. Deborah took the letters of PURIM and created categories for the contributors to write about:

• P=Praise
• U=Un-forgiveness or Forgiveness
• R=Relationships
• I=Inspirational
• M=Marriage

PURIM Celebration was originally created as part of Deborah's Book Launch for her book: The Book of Esther: A Story of Love and Favor which was published last year.

One of the traditions of Purim is giving gifts to the poor. In light of that tradition we have decided that a portion of the proceeds of this book will go to charity.

Drain pasta and add alfredo sauce, bacon, half the cheese, and the chicken mixture. Salt and pepper to taste. Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with cooking spray. Put casserole mixture into dish and top with remaining cheese. Cover with aluminum foil sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until heated through.

Fruit and Yogurt Compote Recipe

I have been trying to eat more raw fruits and vegetables so this morning I made this recipe for breakfast. Between the natural sweetness of the fruit, the creaminess of the yogurt, and the crunchiness of the granola, it made a delicious combination.

Ingredients:

1 cup Greek non-fat yogurt
1 cup crushed pineapple, in own juice
1 banana, sliced
10 strawberries, quartered
3/4 cup granola cereal
**I used Cascadian Farms Organic
Fruit and Nut Granola

Directions:

Mix together the Greek yogurt and fruit. It may make more than you want to eat in one serving so I would suggest you wait and top it with the granola when you are ready to eat it, that way it will be crunchy..

Enjoy,

Salad in a Glass - Green Drink Recipe

Some of my friends have been juicing, so I decided I would give it a try. I picked up some fruits and vegetables at the grocery store this past weekend and made this green drink for breakfast this morning. I thought I would record the ingredients for myself and share them with you in case you would like to try it. Because of all the fruits and vegetables it is healthy for you and since it is blended up it is easier for your body to digest.

I ended up making a whole blender full so I could put it in the refrigerator and have it to drink when I got hungry. If you don't want to make that much you can always do half of the recipe. I was a little skeptical about how it would taste, but the fruit helps sweeten the drink so it tastes good.  Have you ever made green drinks? If so, leave a comment and share with us what some of your favorite ingredients are.

Ingredients:
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 bananas
2 cup crushed pineapple (use fresh if you have it)
2 cucumbers
2 stalks celery
2 handfuls of grape tomatoes
4 kale leaves

Directions:
I started with the yogurt and fruit so I would have some liquid to blend up all the vegetables with and just kept adding and blending until it was all blended together and the taste suited me. I cut the vegetables into pieces so they wouldn't be as hard to blend. Add as much fruit as you need to suit your taste. Here's to your health.

Enjoy,
Deborah
